Fabulously understated, very traditional wine from a region near Montpellier. Picpoul is an ancient grape variety which has been grown here for centuries. The name actually means 'lip stinger', due to the crisp acidity which in this case is perfectly balanced by a lovely viscosity and green fruit/herb flavours. The fruit comes from vines which are 30 – 100 years old (hence the complexity), and is organically grown.
Good with: oysters, crab with chilli and ginger, bouillibaisse (rich fish and shalfish stew)
