Another fabulous wine from Gianni Masciarelli and his wife Marina (see their Trebbiano in our ‘Light, crisp’ etc White section). Like Trebbiano, Montepulciano from Abruzzo has not generally been anything to let off fireworks over. Vines pushed to yield huge amounts of fruit produced wine which tasted of nothing much at all at best or horrid, flat fruit at worst. Hurrah for Gianni then and his lovely pink wine. Careful attention in the vineyard means that you get gorgeously bright, refreshing, cherry fruit flavours which is perfect for summer at a truly delicious price!
