Enotecas originated in Italy, the land of vines, and are places where one can not only buy wine to take home, but also sit and enjoy it with a plate of cheese or cold meats , good bread and virgin olive oil. Or, if the fancy takes you, just taste a few glasses before buying a bottle.
Green & Blue aims to create the same atmosphere of relaxed indulgence, where it is all about the pleasure of drinking good wine at sensible prices , without any pretension or pomposity.
We hope that you will use the bar both as a welcome refuge for a quick drink of something life affirming on your way home from work and as a place to spend long evenings or afternoons with friends over a few cheese platters, taking the opportunity to try a glass of something you may have never heard of before you commit to buying a bottle and taking it home.
If it is far too early in the day for wine, our organic coffee and hot chocolate (made with flakes of real organic chocolate from Sussex producer Coco Loco) are both sensational. We also sell organic fruit juices and a range of very interesting bottled British beers as well as two on draught. Our Breton Cider has become a bit of an institution as well and it now has a very devote band of followers.
We would also like to point out the all the water we sell in Green & Blue is from a very smart filtration system. This means that it is completely fresh – no hanging around in warehouses, lorries, ships, more lorries and more warehouses – and also that there is minimal environmental impact. We do have to charge for this as the filtration system costs us money every month, but at only £1 a bottle, we feel that we are being as fair as possible.
