The range and selection of wines are unlike any wine retailer I've encountered in the UK. The wines are from all over the world, but the selection is extremely well informed, inspired and extremely good value. I'm a big fan of the quirky but brilliant French selection. The reviews are superb, and so detailed that you genuinely feel like you're learning something new about wine, and even about winemaking, every time you go in the shop. The food is all really fresh and excellent, the atmosphere is civilized, warm, continental. A brilliant place.

This is the most delightful independent wine retailer I have ever come across, and I consider it one of the highlights of living in the area. The idea is so simple, yet completely original - you can buy your wine and take it home, or you can taste your way through their selection of wines by the glass (and then inevitably buy another couple of bottles to take home as well!). The most brilliant thing about this place is that it only stocks good stuff, but crucially that that does not mean it is an exclusive or snobbish shop - on the contrary it is utterly unpretentious, and welcoming to anybody with an interest in wines, or just the desire to try something new. Excellent place, well worth regular visits!
